*hugs* thanks everyone for your kind words - don't worry about me jumping before it's healed, the wound is in a place where it is impossible for me to jump unless it's healed so there's no way I could jump even if I wanted to!!

OK I've been told by the nurse that although I'm still in a lot of pain we're looking a few weeks down the line, although the wound won't be fully healed then she sees no reason that I can't do the jump. So it looks like it's 27th/28th April ... do I start to panic now?!

Oh boy, girl!! Well, a little panic never really hurt... The best thing I used to tell myself when I flew in the Marines was that even though I set a goal for myself, if I wasn't fully capable of doing it, not to go ahead. What I mean is, even though the nurse said that you should be close to 100% in a few weeks, if you don't feel 100%, you can always pass and wait until you do. No rush - all those Alzheimer's folks will understand - you've got to take care of you first!

Well done Lynda,
I did this before and like you am not great with heights.
When you are up there, you will find that your fear might probably disappear, mine did. Views take over . It's when you are back on the ground that you suddenly start thinking about what you did. It is very quiet on your descent.

Thanks for your good wishes - and Rindy - the good news is that this week has seen a dramatic improvement in my wound ... in fact Monday was the first day the nurse changed my dressing and I wasn't left in tears! They're happy with my progress, I'm healing well and I'm now to travel to the health centre for my dressing changes rather than the nurse coming out to me - so I think we can all rest assured I'll be fine on 'the day'
