I recently discovered Youtube.com after looking for tartan terrors and tartanic videos lately. Its a marvel what they have as far as videos on that site. Even found enya videos and interviews. But if the lasses want a treat just type in "kilt" in the search and see what comes up.

unsure.gif there sure are some crackers on there! lol.gif

kilts are fun kilts are great but trying to sew in one is not. my ieda on pockets turned out to be harder than i thouht. the frist one when in OK but the second one is just troulbe.Runing out of tread don't help either, but i'm not down yet no kilt can get the better of me! laugh.gif

I think kilts are hard to do, and you're pretty brave. I've only made a couple for myself, though, and I think it's harder to get it right for a woman's kilt. Men are more straight up and down -- the pleats following a stripe don't bend well across hip curves. smile.gif

What was the idea, and what happened to it? Just interested.

Maybe you can get some inspiration from Utilikilts or Amerikilts site. I know that Utilikilts has drawings of their kilts for you to click on. Might give you an idea on how to design it for pockets.

Zeryx: I had even found a video on how to fold the great kilt. Save myself a good $10-$20 finding it there rather than have some company send me instructions on a video tape I will probably watch only once

Here's another pic for the ladies. This one is me, but it's not on my web page. I wasn't happy with the quality of the picture as it looks too washed out. It was taken near the summit on the "Going to the Sun" highway in Glacier Nat'l Park, Montana a few weeks ago.

Great shot, Al G! You and the landscape grace each other very nicely. What beautiful country! That utilikilt really grows on a person -- the black doesn't look odd to me at all now.

You know? There's some similarity in the way you get yourself into an old-fashioned great kilt and the draping of a sari -- especially the temporary hand arrangement of pleats.

http://www.sari.org.in/

Scroll down to the instructions for draping. (Very pretty lady, too, lads.) smile.gif

I had a great kilted encounter once, probably 3 years ago in the middle of a Target department store. Now in middle Georgia, a Target store is NOT where you usually see a guy in a kilt. But I was there one day doing my shopping when to my astonishment I saw a very handsome, tall, dark-haired guy walking towards me with a kilt on. His T-shirt said something about supporting the wearing of kilts, and he grinned at me as he walked by (he was probably amused by the slack-jawed expression I was wearing).
As he passed, I turned to watch the view and burst out into applause. He never slowed a step but raised a hand in acknowledgement as he walked away!

cool.gif Sweet.

laugh.gif Boy I sure did a double take on that post! tongue.gif

We have a guy dancer in our school who wears a black utilikilt when we dance in competition or performances. He's older and married, but I still drool over that! ('specially when he kicks up his legs dancing) laugh.gif wink.gif

I was driving past a kilt shop in Dundee city centre today and had to chuckle at the wording on the window ... I thought you'd all enjoy it too!
