Star Wars (episode IV A New Hope) is and will always be the greatest movie ever. Just something about that movie that no other movie can seem to overcome. at least thats my opinion( and mines the most important, aint it cool.gif )

I just got back from seeing "The Phantom of the Opera". There was one word on my lips afterward: "Oscar". Gerard Butler and Patrick Wilson were very good as The Phantom and Raoul respectively, but virtual newcomer Emmy Rossum stole the show as Christine. I would not be suprised if "Phantom" does very well on Oscar night.

We've recently went to see The Polar Express. I really enjoyed it. We're going to see it again within a few days on the IMAX 3D screen in Tampa. That should be good.

We've also recently watched Brigadoon. I saw that on stage several years ago, and it's one of my top 5 plays. I never even knew it was a movie until I saw the soundtrack at Borders a few weeks back. It was a good movie.

Well, we went to see The Polar Express tonight on IMAX 3D. All I can say is...WOW! It was awesome. I could watch that over and over. There is nothing like IMAX!

I got The Seventh Stream for Christmas. EXCELLENT movie about a selkie. Every bit as good as The Secret of Roan Inish! I highly recommend it.

Have you heard Seal Maiden by Karan Casey and friends? Its a Celtic Musical for children about a Selkie. Its a children's story narrated by Casey with lots of music. I think its wonderful! If you like The Secret of Roan Inish and The Seventh Stream, you'll like this too! I promise! smile.gif

I went to add that to my queue at Netflix, and it had already been added by my wife some time ago. I just bumped it up a bit. Looking forward to seeing it.

I recently watched Garfield. It was somewhat cute, but dumb.

Yesterday I saw 'Lemony Snicket... Unfortunate Events" and its the most bizarre movie I think I've EVER seen! But boy did I enjoy it - visually its gorgeous, simply full of such unique scenes and backgrounds and atmosphere. The story reminds me of Grimm fairy tales in how such bad things happen to really sweet children, and there are some troubling scenes when the kid's loved ones get killed. But the kids are very smart and resourceful, and how they come thru it all is a good tale.

And Jim Carrey! I could watch him all day - talk about a firecracker, he chews up the scenery in this one. He's such fun, so animated with such an 'edge'...

Oh oh - there is a cameo in the movie that had me laughing out loud! I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet.

Urian, you saw King Arthur? I have been going to rent that but was afraid it would be dumb. Thanks for the input! thumbs_up.gif

There is one little tidbit about the two movies that I like! Remember the actor who played Tagh Conneely in Roan Inish (the dark guy who caught fish with his bare hands)? Well, he has an important role in Seventh Stream too!

You're welcome Rosie! I think you'll like it! I loved it!
