The other day I received a letter from my cousin Kay, informing me that her sister Betty had passed away. Apparently she went into the place of no return, having trouble breathing, and sadly she never made it out. But its not a total loss, because we all have fond memories of Betty, and always will.

It was a bitter sweet letter. Bitter in that Betty passed a way, and yet sweet, in that my cousin Kay had enclosed an old photo of my Grandfather, William Clements. A man who I had never seen a photo of, and man who I knew very little of, since my Farther rarely spoke of him, but now I realize that I do know my Grandfather, William, and I know him well, having seen him all my life, in the mirror.

If you'll excuse me now, for I cant hold back the tears.

My brother also is an exact copy of my grandfather. There's nothing wrong with that at all. It's a good thing. So sorry to hear about your loss though. Wishing you lots of warm memories and smiles through all the tears. hug.gif

John, you know you and I have our share of disagreements, but you also know that I consider you a friend. I will certainly keep you in prayer and trust that the sweet memories will carry you through these difficult days. Take care, my friend!

Thanks you for the kind words. They make me feel less the pariah.

You never are a pariah or stranger for us. You are a strong person with strong and honest opinions. I'm glad I had the chance to meet you here on CR.

My best wishes for the difficult times you have to go through right now, stay safe and walk with pride!

In February it was my cousin Betty, and Sunday my nephew called, because my sister Joan didnt make it through the night. I missed her when she was alive, and now for eternity.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I know the heartache of losing a sister. Time does heal the hurt some, but there will always be a part of you that will miss her so very deeply. Thank God for the memories that we can treasure and hold dear to our hearts. Just remember the wonderful times that you and her shared together, the laughter and the tears... I know when my siblings and I are able to be together we alway remember all the silly little things we did when we were growing up and we have a good laugh and sometimes a cry together. It helps to talk and reminisce. Take Care and my thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

John, I'm really sad to hear about your sister. You know I'll be praying for you, buddy. Know that the thoughts of many of the board are with you now.

Take care, my friend.

Ah, JC, I'm just finding this now. I am so sorry to hear about your sister. Take a big hug of comfort from me -- and sometime, after a while, when you are feeling better, tell us about her. Was she like you? If so, then the world really has lost someone special.

Thinking about you and wishing you comfort. Like the Yiddish saying: Zol got dikh bashirmen -- a little hard to translate, but it's like wishing God to be an umbrella between you and the rain of your sorrow.
