for those of you interested I present to you the Port Pirate Festival....
Check out the website above if you need more info. This is the second year of the festival weekend and despite the rainy weekend last year it was still great fun.
Attractions: Bounding Main (as heard here on Celtic Radio) will be performing a few times through out the weekend.
The city of Port Washington being attacked by pirates sailing into town!
Lots of family fun, however because of all the cannons and reinactments they ask that you keep your dogs and other pets at home for their safety and comfort.

Senara-ism : Life is like a theatrical production only you get to be actor, director, and audience all at once. So break a leg, sit back and enjoy the show!

Just a reminder the Port Washington Pirate Festival is this coming weekend June 2 through the 4th. If you're in the Milwaukee/SE Wisconsin area it's worth the quick drive to Port Washington for a weekend of merriment and mayhem.
I'm gonna be there as much as I can this year. I'm especially going to see Bounding Main (frequently played here on Celtic Radio) and a comedy group called the Scurvvy Dawgs.
Well, the 2nd Annual Port Washington Pirate Festival from what I could tell went rather smoothly and all had a good time.
There were several Pirates roaming around the streets and harbor of Port Washington. Some of them so tiny you would swear they were children! I came across one such miniature pirate and his name was Captain Red the Terrible. The fiercest pirate I've ever met anyway.
Unfortunately someone *ahem* forgot to bring his camera so we don't have pictures to share this year.
The citizens of Port Washington captured two nasty pirates and held their public trial of treason charges. They were about to be sent off to the gallows but not before the Windy II came sailing into the harbor and the Pirates aboard rushed to the aid of their captured shipmates. After feirce battle and several exchanges of cannon fire Governor Washington released the prisioners and took them off to the nearest pub for some refreshments.
The afternoon was filled with much merriment and wonderful performances by the likes of Bounding Main (AHOY BOUNDING MAIN), the Scurvvy Dawgs, and Triton's Fury.
There were vendors selling everything from books on shipwrecks and the great lakes, various swords and knives as well as dueling pistols, leather craft and even an amazing display of wire weaving for starters.
Anyway hope to see you all in Port next year. Maybe by then I'll have recouperated from my sunburn... (ow ow ow ow ow ow it itches)
