Well I guess I will add some others into the list. Karen Kasey, Mary Jane Lamond, Solas, Battlefield Band, Clannad.

Instrumental wise I absolutely love Catriona MacDonald.

Oh yeah; Leahy, Great Big Sea, and Natalie MacMaster.

It is too hard for me to pick an all time favorite. I listen to different bands depending on the mood I am in, or want to be in smile.gif

--------------------
Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow
Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?

Lunasa would probably be one of the hottest bands I know of. I'd also say Bothy Band and Planxty are on my "Top Celtic Bands Ever" list. (sure...they're old...but has anyone really outdone them?

Can't argue with that!!! Have to add Solas as another powerhouse of a band.

Of the named artists allocated for the poll, the winning sash goes to Loreena McKennitt. Classy and stylish lady, great music, and I love the way she blends the Celtic genre with influences and flavours from other cultures.
I'm looking forward to her next studio release! thumbs_up.gif
