Zodiac

I dreamt I stood
On a Heathered Ben
And stared in silence
Down a Glen
Arrayed before me
The Ghillies stood
Rank upon Rank
Of Scotlands' Clans
Some were naked
Dyed in blue
Most wore Kilts
A few the Trews
Some old, some young
All Battle scarred
Pikes and Broadswords
Dripped of blood
The Claidheamh Mors
Held by calloused Men
The Targe and Dirk
Were close to hand
Here were the folk
Of Scottish lore
The heroes of
So lang ago
Those who stood
"gainst Roman might
Those who slew the
English Knights
Those whose blood
Kept Alba free
Now arrayed in front of me.
My pride at seeing
Such a sight
Soon turned to shame
In the gathering light
For how could I
These Heroes here,
Tell that Scotias' land
Is still not free.

Camac,

Quite the dream you had there my friend.
When reading this poem I could almost imagine it in front of me so much the words are deep. However if I may, the end of it doesn't flow easily. But in all I like it very much.

Thanks LOA

LOA; Don't know why but I always have trouble ending my poems. Some kind of writers hang up I guess.

It’s a good poem, and the ending is just fine.

Most artists have difficulty deciding when, and how to finish their creation, whether it is writing or painting. I think the problem is that creativity actually has no end. It’s like the soap “Days of Our Lives”, they could keep the plot going on for ever……….

Anyway, I often give myself a dead line to finish something, or some times I shelve it and go back to it later, (hopefully with a fresh mind), and then, some times I’ll just trash it, because of another idea, that I’d rather work on. The bottom line is the sky’s the limit, when it comes to creativity, and where and how to end it, is not easy.

By no stretch of the imagination do I consider myself an artist but I thank you for the advise. I'll just keep scribbling on. Thanks my Friend.
