Celtic Radio Community > Philosophy & Science > How Do You See Spirituality?

I was thinking about this after reading Aon Daonnna's thread (hope you don't mind!!)

How would you describe spirituality to someone. Be it visual or what have you.

As for myself I would describe it as hearing my husband tell me that he loves me and can't picture his life without me. Just the feeling of pure love, joy, and contentment.

What can I say I'm a hopeless romantic!! tongue.gif

Being in the mountains.... seeing the wonders that we all seem to forget about in our busy, busy lives....

Spirituality is a vapor that is constantly around you and suddenly gets absorbed into your essence.

I see it directly in line with faith. And it is something that you believe but can't see.

A realm of mysticism and light. Where form is optional. A realm of beauty which transcends anything that can be represented on this physical world.

The feeling of the final touch on art, the orgasm in the coupling of 2 people that love one another, the Love in the meaningful relationships, the opening of a flower, the sense of awe at something bigger than ones self as if seeing a skyscraper for the first time. the wind that blows across an open field of golden wheat, the first ray of sunshine that breaks over the Earth, the first cry of a newborn baby, the quickening kicks of the child in the womb....could go on hehe but will hold off. Everything is Spiritual! vampire.gif

I know when I'm out on the mountain top in the highlands of Scotland I feel very small in this world...

I am amazed at how much beauty in this world is around me and I feel so lucky to live and breathe and experience it.

What I do and say are no longer important and I like it...I don't have to matter in this world...I don't have to make my mark on this world or on anyone else...I't alright for me just to live and take it all in.

The mountains are so peaceful...it really can give you an attitude adjustment on life and what is really important, like our mates, family, and friends....and while we are here I'll try to remember those things first....
everything else is nice but not really so important...

Live you life well. It's the only one you have.

I don't "see" my spirituality any more than I see my breath go in and out, view electrical impulses flashing through my nervous system or see the blood circulating through my body. Like my physical, emotional and mental processes, the spritual processes are an integral part of my being. It takes all four of those different yet related aspects to be "me".

something not of me, nor because of me, yet somehow within me.

I don't see my spirituality, I live it. I conciously strive to work it into my daily life. My inner life and the external world are inseparable.

Spirituality is life and live is spirituality. Everything that is natural is spirituely. Trees, deers, humans, water, earth, air, fire, stones......
Spirituality is the essence of my beeing and the sum of my life I live and the lives I once lived.
(That´s the first that came in my mind) smile.gif

Spirituality is not a thing. It is life. You must live it. I agree that on top of a mountain (not in Scotland tho) I feel insignificant in the scheme of things. Everything is glorious.

I am impressed by everyone's profound statements here. too grand!! biggrin.gif

O'siyo,
~ Spirituality to me is something one is born/blessed with~ I believe it is not taught or learned but, is passed on from generation to generation~ Complete internal bliss~

How do you see Spirituality? Hmmm that's difficult.

For different people, it's of course different.

By the way people live there lives is what I would say, how they act and what good/bad they do.

that feeling you get when something strikes you as being so beautiful it makes your heart ache

or when everything just feels right in the world and you're a part of it and everything feels at peace
