Woke up this morn
Day older than before
The face in the mirror
Looked tired and worn
A stranger stared back
I knew not that face
But then a glimmer
Of recognition, a trace
It's me I mumbled
In shocked surprise
Who'd you think
Was the tort reply
What happened I
Questioned, to
That handsome young man
He was here yesterday
A real Dapper Dan
He's gone and left you
Stupid old jerk
What'd you expect
With Nature at work
Young and handsome
I'd like to stay
But I guess
In the long run
Life makes you pay

I try not to look in the mirror these days. Especially not with my glasses on, (try it, it works for me)?

Fun poem Dave,
Thanks, JC

I just would like to meet the bozo that invented the ''mirror'' I would give him a peace of my mind for this is THE worst invention.
It has made people become vain like crazy since that invention came across humanity.
Exterior is nothing, it's what's inside that counts.
Even if one hasn't been bless with nature in regard of exterior handsomeness, one still possess it in one's heart. That's my belief.

Great poem by the way though melancholic.
