I am Pamela, "hello"! Of all the places I have visited and lived in about this odd-shaped world, I have never been to Scotland! It is a dream I have to visit and actually Live there...sight unseen...I have no idea why, but it has always been w/me and I'm not a "young" lassie so it isn't as though I am "wet behind the ears" still w/no common sense...Anyway! Greetings from the Pacific NW! A good day to you all! So glad I stumbled upon this site! Thanx.

By all means- "dive right in" as we are all curious- are you an artist or musician? Photographer or writer? Gardener, wiccan, christian or poet? Do rocks standing at odd angles out of the ground strike your fancy? ( a celtic thing for sure)

So good to have you- make yourself at home and join in the ruckus!

Thank you all for the lovely welcome!!!! I look forward to getting to be part of this new (old) world!
I do write children's stories, as yet, I am still an UNpublished writer, but that has not put a damper on my continuing to write.
I write poetry when the muse takes time to visit and inspire me.
I am a mom to two lovely girls, 7 and 16 who, I'll admit, just seemed to "happen"...i.e. I'm not sure if I had any influence on them being great kids!
I finally renewed my passport!!!Received it in the mail 2 wks ago! So, I must definitely plan my dream trip! Would love to pub hop around Scotland and see if the people would take me in for the night wherever I land, but I may end up planning a bit more in advance!
Thank you again to all for the warm welcome! biggrin.gif

QUOTE (pamelafp @ 07-Nov-2007, 01:25 PM)

Welcome Pamela, I too always dreamed of going Scotland, and when I finely did, it moved me to the following: (Such as it is.) So I wouldn’t wait for luck or providence.

Scotland bound, Scotland bound
Have searched the world and I have found
No grander land of history
No grander land of mystery
So raise a dram and drink with me
For Scotland’s where I’m soon to be
Though beautiful the world I found
So grand the land, I’m Scotland bound

Scotland bound, Scotland bound
Though beautiful the world I found
Can’t break the ties that tether me
Can’t break the ties of family
So raise your voice and sing with me
For Scotland’s where I’ve longed to be
Though beautiful the world I found
So grander the ground, I’m Scotland bound

Scotland bound, Scotland bound
Have seen the world and I have found
No grander land of majesty
No grander land of bravery
So raise a glass and drink with me
For Scotland’s where they’ll bury me
Though beautiful the world I found
So grand the land, I’m Scotland bound

Welcome Pamela from Georgia. It's interesting that you write for children, but are yet unpublished. I hope you get something published some day. I teach four/five year olds and am always looking for intresting books to read to the kids.
I have been to Ireland, but never to Scotland. Tentatively we are talking about this coming summer! I hope
