Just wanted to take a minute and WELCOME! all our new members. As of this morning we have hit the 20 member mark and the group is growing more over the last few days. Our newest members over the last few days stop in and welcome them in to our growing group.
Thanks for giving us this new forum! I accidentally stumbled upon Scottish Radio a few days ago, and we have been listening to it ever since! I am of Scottish Highlands descent on both sides of my family (my fathers family are Stewarts and my mothers family are Taylors). My children have been studying about Great Britain at school, so this has all been very timely. I tell them that the British Isles are not just one big group of islands like Hawaii, but are comprised of several countries, each with their own unique history and culture. As you can tell, my teaching background will never leave me. I am no longer in the classroom, but I still enjoy the adventure of education.
I will warn everyone from the very beginning that I am known to be somewhat opinionated, and I really do enjoy sound, logical debates! I do not pick fights, but neither do I walk away from one!
I want to see us have 100 members by January as well. I think the more people we can get to come together here, the better the message boards will be, so I will tell all of my friends about this board! I am currently on several Scottish message boards, but they are very, very slow to post - I am not sure why that is? I do know that there is a 6 hour time difference between me and Scotland, so that might have a wee bit to do with it....
You sure you want to dive into all of the discussions? Some of them are pretty wild. For instance KYLassie mentioned a picture from Electric Scotland that looked like her Uncle Joe and boy did we have fun with that picture. It started with me actually posting the picture then totally going wild with him and editing a set of torn jeans for him and a rebel tee-shirt it got pretty wild. But was allot of fun and good pratice for me with overlapping graphics and such.
Not saying it couldn't happen in fact I would love to see it myself that's why I link to Pauls forums whenever possible off my website so he gets the traffic and we don't compete against each other. We'll get there. Just a matter of how long it will take hopefully sooner then later.
Wow, I leave the forum for a few weeks to work on the website and I come back and it is full of life!!!!
Dave where did all of these people come from. I better do the dishes and get the dirty laundry out of sight! lol
Just a great big welcome to all of the people that have posted on this topic and also a big thanks for your very kind comments! Hope you are enjoying the music, the forum and the website! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts and look forward to getting to know you better over the next few months.
It seems we really have a great group of people here and I can't wait until I have more time to really dive into some of these discussions!
Quote from Macfive, posted on Sep. 23 2001,16:53 I would like to welcome everyone to the Highlander Message Boards. This is the place to talk about anything and everything! We have just installed the software today, so as you can see we really do not have a whole lot of posts. To get things started, perhaps post a message about who you are and what you like about Highlander Radio.
In the meantime, feel free to explore the forum software. I think you will find a ton of nice features that you don't normal see in your regular forum software.
Thanks again for everyones continued support of Highlander Radio and enjoy the message boards!

This sight is cool and I love the music. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to build up the members and or participate in other ways.
