At&t Worldnet Dialup, Their new Accelerator seems to work

If anyone else is still living in the stone age (along with me) connecting to Highlander Radio and Celticradio.net via a dialup connection there is some hope, at least on AT&T Worldnet. I downloaded their new Accelerator software and went from over 3 minutes to connect to Live365 and Highlander Radio to just under 30 seconds. It doesn't appear to have any deleterious affects on the music stream. On Celticradio.net the pages load noticeably faster, though if you set the software up for max acceleration it does reduce graphics and image quality drastically.

Is anybody else using similar software on any other dialup ISP's? Does it work for you?

That is great to hear about. I was wondering how those new accelerator programs work with Highlander Radio and our website.

In case there was some confusion on my first post let me try to clarify:

ATT Worldnet Accelerator did:

1) improved connection time to live365 (from clicking the icon on Celticradio.net home page to Live365 player playing their promo and then Highlander Radio music) from over 3 minutes to just under 30 secs.

2) improved speed of loading of webpages at Celticradio.net (noticeably, but can't give you a definitive time period), but does affect graphics and image quality when you set it to max.

ATT Worldnet Accelerator did not:

1) cause any unwanted effects to the live365 stream.

2) improve in anyway the live365 stream.

as a long time user of dialup(turned cable !!) i took time to read on tweaking my modem...and other small registry tweaks..and 3rd party software....
Hope this is ok to post mac...
speedguide.net under broadband has a small program to help tweak your dialup speed abit...tcp-optimizer.. works on cable/dsl/and dialup...or cyberwizardpit.com has an optimzer for dialup-and corrosponding o/s...

winxp/dialup ect
many many web sites taking you step by step through tweaking out your modem...shutting off those uneeded programs that just add or lag down your bandwidth..
in most cases youll see greater improvment right off the bat /w out effecting your isp's software..
running through a dialup connection(the one ya make yourself) spybot is a must!
great lil program thats rids your puter of many/many unwanted and bandwith hogging spyware files
careful on this one though it will have adverse effects on some software..."gator,ect"...and some isp software..AOL and such...
but in the long turn the less trying to send out packets the better !
