Does anyone know how to get ahold of this song? I've looked on the artist's website. Heck, I've looked EVERYWHERE (I think) and been unable to get a copy of it.

I'm in love with the song and would love to hear more of him, but it seems like his tapes/cd's/whathaveyou simply aren't available anymore.

Can anyone help?

He does some performances down in the North Carolina area at Highland Games. Usually you can buy his CD's from him there. But that was a couple years ago. I'm not sure if he still does that or not. unsure.gif

Hey Quiva...I notice that Ed Miller is performing at the Celtic Classic in Bethlehem, PA in the end of September, maybe you can contact some there and find out about cd's and such. I know Annabelle (I think that is the right name) will be there you might even contact her...just a thought...

Here's a link for his 2000 "Lowlander" album that contains "The Prince of Darkness".

It even has little bit of the song in mp3 you can listen to.

Ed Miller's "The Prince of Darkness"

Hope this helps.

Wonderful, thank you. All the links I found when I was looking led to defunct sites and so on. I don't know why I didn't think to check cdbaby, I buy from there all the time.

Thank you all!

Last night my daughter, who is almost 8, was helping me put dishes in the dishwasher. She was humming something under her breath and I wasn't really paying attention to what it was. She loves music and loves to sing so she is usually singing or humming. Then she finally said..."and they asked if I was poor I tell em, aye sure...." and I just looked at her. She stopped and said what? I love that song....it took me a minute to place what and who it was. SO...It would appear that my daughter is also fond of Ed Miller's Prince of Darkness!! I usually have CR on when I am cooking and doing dishes and what not...so...it figures that she picks up the lyrics and tune too....funny kids....

I love those union songs, especially "Fire in the Hole" by The Elders. Then again, my Dad's in a union at the refinery, so I'm biased.

That is a point. But you're right, it's important to keep those things separate in the mind. Unions can get very abusive of rights and privileges, but there's still these guys that work their lives out, and their lungs out, in a deep hole in the ground, and they die down there too often (and still fighting for enough pay sometimes to justify the risk and decently support their families). That's what the song is about, I believe. That's why I find it moving, anyway. smile.gif

Besides, it's a good set of words for what it is, and a damn fine tune and musical arrangement. thumbs_up.gif

Hello to Celtic Radio listeners...I was delighted to find out recently that The Prince of Darkness (from my CD, Lowlander) has been so well received. The words are by my good friend Brian McNeill and I put the tune to them. Anyone wishing to obtain a copy of that CD or others can download an order form from my web site www.songsofscotland.com or can call me at 512-472 6036 and order over the phone.
a' the best, Ed Miller
