Hi Everyone. My mum just told me about your wonderful site and I had to join in. I was born in Fort William, but have lived in the US (currently in Michigan) since age 5. I've never lost my love of traditional music. My late grandad was a wonderful musician when he wasn't working for British Aluminum and he played the most wonderful traditional music (played the fiddle. banjo, giutar and piano) and my granny and great auntie both played piano and sang gaelic songs. My nine year old son has expressed interest in learning the fiddle so he may start lessons in the spring.
I like attending the Detroit Highland Games as well as various other Celtic related events in my area as well as the Michigan Renaissance Festival.
Anyway...glad to have this wonderful site and I look forward to chatting wih you all.
A very much welcome to you all, Joshua and Angela! Hope you enjoy our community here and hope to see you posting or maybe even in chat! Take care!
Joshua, I am an artist too so the feeling of needing to express oneself artistically is very strong, I would agree. You should post your artwork images in the Celtic hearts forum under Artwork so we can all share in your creativity!
Good to see some new faces here! I'll send out a hearty welcome to all ya'll too, from the sunny South. Its colder than 10,000 billy goats here but its sunny all the same.
Everyone's new year off to a good start?

"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king..."
Hello Everyone! I'm brand spanking new here and just delighted to find this site. No day is all bad if I have spent at least part of it listening to celtic music. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone! Slainte y'all! Cara

Welcome Cara! Very nice to have you join our little community here that is ever growing! Hope you have lots of fun here with us all and listening to the music too!See you on the boards!
Hello! I stummbled across this site, quite accidentaly, looking for songs and poems of selkies. I have loved celtic music since I was a wee pup, singing many small little rhyms to recently the long loved ballads. I also play the classical guitar decently and attempting to learn the pipes. *LOL* It going well enough.... I also am an accomplished artist and recently poems have been flowing easily. After very little convincing, I have joined and am truly enjoying it. Thank you for such a site!
Welcome Ladymarine! It is good that you stumbled here! Hope you enjoy not only the music but all the forums. I am an artist as well and many of us have shown our artwork in the Celtic Hearts forum. I hope you do the same! See you around in all the forums and maybe in chat too!
Welcome to Highlander Radio, Parmi. Your goals are the same as all the rest of us.
I hope you enjoy this fine group of maniacs.

"I am a Canadian by birth, but I am a Highlander by blood and feel under an obligation to do all I can for the sake of the Highlanders and their literature.... I have never yet spoken a word of English to any of my children. They can speak as much English as they like to others, but when they talk to me they have to talk in Gaelic."
