Friends coming over Friday the 17th for my annual St. Patrick's day party.
Saturday my daughter has an Irish Step Show with family coming over and then back to our house for a nice boiled corn beef and cabbage dinner.
Lots of fun and laughter to be had!

Happy early St Patrick's day to you! We're having ours today, just hubby and me. But we'll be celebrating out for dinner on Friday so that will be fun.

My lovely wife and I wanted to hit Downtown as usual but she will be working late on Friday so we will hit a couple of smaller celebratory places with some friends for drinks and...drinks...Then spend the rest of the weekend home eating and drinking to our hearts content while watching all the Irish movies we can pull up...Lots of clinking glasses and outlaw pipes for sure...Slainte

Happy (early) St Patrick’s Day to All!

My troupe will be dancing (traditional set and sean nós) at a retirement center this and next Tuesday in celebration, and then on Thursday my hubby and I will go to Fenian’s pub to listen to some great traditional music, do some dancing, and enjoy the craic.

Howdy all! Plans have not yet come together for the 17th, but I can guarantee you it will be filled with Irish Trad music! I have discovered a couple of new great groups and I am enjoying them immensely!

I actually ordered some Irish peat to burn in my wood burning stove (Yeah, pretty nerdy!). I'm going to burn it on St. Patrick's Day morning and enjoy the smell! I fell in love with that aroma when my wife and I had the privilege of visiting Eire in 2011.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!!

Here's the link: http://www.southshoreirish.com/

It's called Glyn Brothers. I ordered a little sample pack instead of their larger boxes. There used to be a couple of other sources but these guys seem to have a good reputation. Let me know if you try them and what you think!

Thanks, togo!! I think it's actually going to be pretty cool. My kids (all grown) look at me like I'm nuts, but that goes for pretty much anything!! Lol!

I'm absolutely going to have to do this! And since winter is not going anywhere soon judging from the view out my front window, this would be a great thing to try. smile.gif

Nerdy? I think not!!

I think it will be fun. We have finally gotten some warmer, drier weather here in the Northern Arizona mountains on the Rez, but I have a good fire going this morning to take the edge off.

I imagine it will be nice and chilly on the morning of the 17th!

Can't wait to see how it all goes.

When I was a youngster many years ago my next door neighbor would "go back" every other year to Co. Cork where she was born and raised. One year she brought me back some stones and bits and pieces of mortar and such from a couple of castles. She also brought back a small piece of peat for to burn like incense she says. Well the stones and such are long gone but that smell of the smoldering peat still fogs my mind to this day. An aroma I have never forgotten, thanks Aunt Peggie...Cheers ya'll...

Ok now I'm definitely in on the peat thing!
The Glynn Brothers are right in my home state.
Nerdy??? Then call me a nerd. Hey aren't nerds "in" now? Whatever that means.
Just really like fun loving people.

When I was younger I used to really care about what people thought about me. Then as I got a little older and I really didn't care what people thought about me. Now that I'm older I realized that.... no one ever really thought about me in the 1st place...

As you get older you realize that there is much more importance to how you think of yourself then it is of how others may think of you. There is no peace until you find peace within yourself as they say. Drinks all around my friend, drinks all around...

Okay, ordered the sampler pack. I emailed about something after the order and he was very apologetic that his "Michigan guy" was out so it would take an extra day to get to me! I'm going to have to find out where the "Michigan guy" is so next time, I can just go pick it up. Pretty excited here! Can't wait to spring this on husband...

As far as what people think of me, who cares? I like me. That's all that matters. Oh, well, and husband seems to like me a little too so that's probably a good thing tongue.gif
