QUOTE (Lady-of-Avalon @ 28-Jan-2009, 11:59 AM)
As for Lord Subhuman goes....I only have this to say to you my lord.
You are the most coward of all people in the kingdom...hiding in check...all mouth and insults...but when the time comes he hides.

You can delay but we will wait for you.

See you all on the battlefield and may God have mercy on you.

"AGAIN MACINNES!" MACAONGHAIS A-RITHIST!

Lady of Avalon
Second in Command of Clan MacInnes

Lord Olorin,

So you just admitted that you were in league against us...and there maybe more than meets the eyes here...

It seems my Lord that your "supposedly ALLIES" in secret are all mouth in more ways than one....if you think that NO ONE noticed...well all I have to say is that some have eyes to observe and study the game more than others I guess.

As for his statement goes he stated on jan.28th in response to Lady Harlot that he has been on HM for several days even before the announcement of the declaration of war...well nothing can be so far from the thruth as I was on that day and he had put himself on HM that same very day and now he's looking at the naked ladies on the French Riviera since then....hmmmmm eek.gif drool.gif

As for myself...I too is on HM but not for the same reason...for I did not "deserted" anyone...or hiding...I have personal reason for what is worth as I can log on only for an hour or a few minutes these days unfortunately.

I too noticed these things as well, but the allogation that I was "in league" against your clan isn't quite what you make it out to be. The war was already on and I asked him if he would care to aid us since all ties had been severed. So there were hardly any secrets going on.

And here are the email messages showing this:

holiday mode..., 28-Jan-2009, 11:42 AM

I went into holiday mode on sunday or Monday (not sure which) so I either have a few hours or a little over a day of forced non-participation left.
I will gladly join in after that point, but until then there's not much I can do.

And my reply:

Very well then. We await your arrival.

Of course he never "arrived" per say.

I also was the one that initiated contact with him and this was his reply, but I cannot find the email I sent. I guess that looks bad on me, but I'm sure sub has it and will post it when he sees our wonderful little conversation here.

Just how long is one allowed to go onto vacation mode on this game anyway? I was under the impression it was only 72 hours or somewhere around there, so that would make 3 days?? Just curious as to whether or not that is true, I may wish to take a vacation if it seems i am allowed to miss an entire war altogether

Apparently you can go into Holiday Mode as much as you want.

Once you go into Holiday Mode you are frozen for 75 hours. The trick is to know when you come out. All the while you are in Holiday Mode you collect your resources, are protected from attack and you can build and train. Now, once you come out you can spend what resources that you have collected and go right back in. It is one way of growing without worry of losing what you have gained.

Here is the excerpt from the Help file.

QUOTE
Holiday
As soon as you enter holiday mode, you will be logged out of your account, and will not be allowed to log back in for at least 75 ticks. You can remain in holiday mode for as long as you wish, and whilst in holiday mode you will receive no income, and you cannot be attacked by other players.

I think we have stumbled on a bug. It states that no income is received but it does accumulate currently.

I do not think it is smart it is cheating. It is using an exploit to your advantage in the game. Since we have evidence that he is checking his kingdom then this is proof and he should be removed from the game. This is not why this feature was put into the game. Just my 2 gold pieces.

Don't want to go "off topic" but....
First if I may clear something up here...

While on Holiday Mode... no one can build and train...because you can't log into your account for 3 days....the only two things that HM does for you is yes protect your kingdom while away and two the resources still accumulates because you have assets that produces them...I don't see it as a bug I see it as a normal course of action...why then the purpose of buildings if everything stops while you can't log into your account ???

And second, I don't see it as cheating or anything...EVERYONE is allowed to play as they please...taking advantage of it is no more cheating than taking advantage of attacking others during the night while they are sleeping.(don't want to start an argument here...only making a comparison...thank you very much)

In this case if he has chosen to go on HM it's his own choice...he can play as he sees fit...there is no rule written against it.

As for anyone last visit and such again it doesn't mean anything...everyone is allowed to log into CR while on HM on the game!!!!

If this feature was not for the purpose of taking advantage of it then why is it there for????

So then I have been "cheating" as well...as I have been in and out of the hospital for the last week every day and could only log a few minutes at a time during the day or late at night...so why would I leave my kingdom unprotected in time of war when I can't defend myself...or what if someone go away on vacation...why couldn't he/she put their account on HM and if while away more than 3 days why can't they put it back on???

Everyone knows that today everywhere in the world...one can have access to "Internet Café" or library services and just have their kingdoms protected.

No, I don't think it's cheating. IMHO.

1) It is not cheating. He did not change the game programming to gain it. He just plays. Just because someone exploits a bug in this "BETA" game means nothing. Everyone can still take advantage just like him. It is not restricted to anyone.

2) It is a "bug" in the truest meaning of programming because it conflicts with what has been stated in the Help section. If the program does one thing and the Help section says another, there is a conflict. It needs to be reconciled. Someone new to the game relies on the Help section, in which case, they are at a distinct disadvantage right from the start.

Well, I'm not trying to stray too far off target either, but I find it a bit odd of you fair lady to go this far to defend his actions. Where Stevenpd's reaction is typical of his behavior and straight to the point, yours is more like your completely condoning his actions and making excuses for it. You were ever so quick to judge me and condemn me as a dishonorable clansmen, and him as well at first; so very odd this change of heart you seem to have developed. disgust.gif

Is it cheating? That debate could go on for days and I'm not here to judge it either way. Is what he did when war broke out, and continues to do now in bad form? Absolutely

Lord Olorin,

I am not defending his actions whatsoever as I couldn't care less...read carefully what I am stating and don't try and pretend otherwise and twist my statement against me again.

I am defending the fact that some including you with some of your statements that think that people are "cheating" their way into the game...nothing can be further from the truth.

I am simply stating that "ALL PLAYERS" are allowed to use this feature (HM) for as long as they wish and as many times as they wish.

And I am not making any excuses to anyone or to anything.Again read what you will I couldn't care less either as I don't have any respect for those that are throwing false accusations without foundations.

I am simply fed up with the childish statements of some that states that people are cheating because they simply use a feature in the game and/or insinuating that CR members are implicated in the game somehow.

The fact of the matter is that I stated an opinion in regard of someone accusing another of "cheating" and it simply don't matter who the player is,that is not the point here...that is bad form and bad taste as "ALL PLAYERS" are allowed to play the game the way they wish. Simple as that. And I am allowed to my opinion and I wish that you would refrain from twisting another's statement.

I don't care much about those that use this argument like saying that someone is "cheating" or a third party is involved to help one gain into the game.In my eyes I see it as a "sore looser" statement nothing less.

And if you have a personal issue with Lord Subhuman actions well you know what you have to do.

Sincerely yours,
Lady of Avalon smile.gif

*sigh* more of the same, it seems. I suppose sooner or later you will rid yourself of this grudge you seem to have against me. And I hold nothing against Subhuman, I just find him stating that he will do one thing, then doing the exact opposite to be in "bad form".

I'm hardly a sore loser and I haven't been in here whining about losing my armies and such. In contrast I took it with a smile and enjoyed finally freaking doing something in the game. I was to a point where getting my ass kicked was far better than setting on it day after day. I can finally do something and have some fun again, why would I complain? Having the crown as long as I did was a double edged sword as I'm sure you have found as well. It's great to be on top and I was proud while I was there, but it's mighty lonely, (and boring) at the top. Especially when surrounded by nothing but allies as far as you can see.

Good day, my quarrels are done here.

Well, all seams well in the Mk. The Subhuman does what he does because he is who he is and nobody else could be him. This game is meant to be a battle for the top and for Clans to gather members for support of the groupp as a whole. Battles will be fought, with or without warning. Although in my own thoughts, during medievil times, did any attacking army give notice of an upcoming attack? I think not! But I think extortion was at its peak by asking for gold or goods in the means of taxes abounded at the time and we have seen it here.
Let the games continue, both battles and words, but we are all here for the enjoyment of Celtic Radio.
Lord Piobmhorpiper

The Scots of course insist that the pipes produce music. But the point is after all not too important. For those who love them, the pipes can evoke more vividly than any other instrument, high emotion, they can inspire valor, and tell of tragic tales of battles long ago. They can call forth merriment or sentiment. It does not matter what the sound is called, those who are deaf to its merits would not understand anyway.

Olorin, you're correct. It is/was in bad form for me not to participate as I said I would in that e-mail. However, plans change and I found myself with less than sufficient time to manage a war. Figuring I'd need about 8 hours (it can reasonably be expected to be resolved in that time period) at the computer, I haven't had that yet. Much like LoA using HM when only having a few minutes each day to play, I find myself in a similar situation (but for different reasons).
Harlot- last visit to the forum does not always mean last visit to the game.
stevenpd- you were the one who informed me of the bug where a player continues to accumulate resources while in HM, so don't even try to pretend it's a newly discovered bug or previously unknown to you

Oh, and for those of you who are curious- I find myself with a few minutes to post today, but not with 8 hours... so feel free to check, but yes I'm still in HM.

I have two modes: wiseass and dumbass. Mode is determined by current blood alcohol level.

Drinking is a sport. In order to be competitive, you must practice on a regular basis. Although you can practice alone, it is much more fun to practice with friends. If you're out of shape and practice too hard, you will regret it the next day.

Life is a disease. It is sexually transmitted and always terminal.
