Just had my haircut once again. Since this is a new hairdresser and being Christmas I wasn't sure how much to tip her. I normally tip her $5.00 so I just gave her $10.00. Is this out of line? "Not enough?" How much do all of you tip this time of year?

My hairdresser said she isn't getting home til 10:30 P.M. and goes in early. She did mention in January she hardly gets anyone to get a haircut or color etc.

Nice photos InRi-you do look like your working hard.

Thank's Rindy
That's really true. We build a house in spring/summer. The shell of the unfinished building was done by a building firm and I done almost all interior works by myself...

I was wondering what kind of shampoo you folks use? Just out of curiosity...I am now hooked on Pureology. I am due for a cut once again this week.

The lady we use now charges us $10 a piece for my two sons and I. She washes and blow dries for that. Part of me wants to go back to an old fashioned barber shop, but we can't really beat where we're going, now.

Here in Oakville. On., a hair cut is $12.00 which reminds me I'd better get one soon as it's been 8 months. Got enough for a small ponytail.

It has been several years since I've had my hair cut by a proffessional. I went yesterday and got one. It was 20.00 for wash, cut and blowdry. I didn't think that was bad since my hair was to the middle of my back and I had it cut short. Drastic change.

It depends on where I go. You can run down to the Hair Cuttery and get a haircut, shampoo, and blow dry for about $20.00. If I want a master hair cutter, it runs between $40 and $60. Added bonus is you get a nice chablis while you wait!!!!! We have Synergy and Aveda spa salons which are even more expensive.

QUOTE (Rindy @ 17-Jan-2008, 09:14 PM)
I was sitting here thinking...I wonder what people pay for a hair cut world wide. As some of you know I keep mine pretty short which means a cut about every four weeks.
The charge is $17.00 with out the tip. The amount sure adds up over a year.

So for those of you who have your hair cut..men and women what do you pay your hair care professional to cut your hair?

Slainte

I don't know what the amount would be in US dollars, but I pay Ŗ45 for my hair cuts. Of course, that doesn't include the tip for the girl who washes my hair, or the tip for my stylist and certainly is not inclusive of colouring. wink.gif

Simeag;
45 pounds is around $90.00 US. about $100.00 CDN. I pay $12.00 and that includes trimming my eyebrow (look like a horn owl) and the hair in my ears and nose . A wash is $8.00 more. Which reminds me it's been 8 months since my last haircut guess I'd better get one soon.

I get mine cut free because I donate it to the wigs for cancer patients
They usually take 6-10 inches at a time.
Yes I know, if I could make money like I grow hair I'd be a zillionaire.

I finally did it! I celebrated St. Pat's day by coloring my hair bright red. As some of you know, I have been meaning to for over a year. I meant to--even bought the coloring, but just never got to it. I'll post a picture after I get a trim in a couple of weeks. It needs trim now after only 3 weeks--can't believe its growing so fast--must be the spring weather--but we're going to Alaska next week and I can't get down to my hair stylist before we leave.
