Celebrity Series of Boston:

Looking for an Irish, Bagpipe or Celtic music concert to attend in March? With the forthcoming St. Patrick's Day festivities taking shape, you might want to check out these three concerts being sponsored by the Celebrity Series of Boston. They have lined up a number of excellent shows for the month of March to include Camerata, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and everyone's favorite - The Chieftains. Boston offers a wealth of entertainment, hotels, restaurants and historic landmarks that would compliment any trip to the birth place of Liberty:

Camerata Ireland - Friday, March 7th at 8:00 PM, NEC's Jordan Hall:

Camerata Ireland, founded in 1999 by artistic director and pianist Barry Douglas, is an ensemble dedicated to celebrating Ireland and her music-making history with a broad repertoire of classical and modern music. This 30-piece chamber orchestra comprised entirely of Irish musicians has attracted worldwide notice for its enthralling performances full of sensuality, charm and electricity.

The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards - Satuday, March 8th at 2:00 PM, Symphony Hall:

The Coldstream Regiment was formed in 1650 by George Monck, a General in Oliver Cromwell’s “New Model Army,” and is therefore one of the oldest regiments in the world. The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards is Scotland’s senior regiment and her only regular cavalry. The "Scots DG" is famous for their outstanding Pipes and Drums who perform worldwide. Pipes, drums and highland dancers perform music of Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales, producing a grand martial spectacle that makes any performance by Pipes, Drums and Dancers of Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and The Regimental Band, Her Majesty's Coldstream Guards moving and unforgettable.

The Chieftains - Friday, March 14th at 8:00 PM, Symphony Hall:

From the moment Paddy Moloney launches into his lively Gaelic introductions, to the stillness after the last lyrical notes of the pennywhistle fade away, and all the barn-burning reels and rollicking step-dances in between, you will know that no matter where you come from, tonight, you’re at home in Ireland. The Chieftains are the finest practitioners of traditional Irish music in the world, icons without peer or parallel. Come home to Ireland with The Chieftains!

About the Celebrity Series: To present the best in the performing arts to the broadest possible audience, to create new works that bring artists and audiences together, and to engage young audiences in artistic experiences through performing arts-based education and community service programs.
